USTA membership is available for clubs as well as individuals. Apply Online

Club Membership

Requirements for membership:

  • Have a minimum of five (5) registered individual members
  • Have an instructor who is Kukkiwon certified black belt, age 18 & older
  • Have established a Utah Taekwondo Dojang or training facility which is used primarily for the practice of Taekwondo

Benefits of membership:

  • Receipt of an appropriate recognition certificate
  • Listing on the USTA website
  • Support and promotion of club tournaments
  • Support and promotion of club events

Note:

There is a $50 fee to register. Membership is valid for one year from the date of receipt. The continued eligibility of each club is conditioned upon continued registration as a member and continued compliance with the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of the Corporation.

Individual Membership

Membership is available to active Taekwondo participants, such as:

  • amateur Taekwondo athletes
  • students
  • instructors
  • coaches
  • referees
  • trainers
  • managers
  • administrators
  • officials

Benefits of membership:

  • compete in state tournaments & rankings
  • opportunity for State team trial (black belt, age 14 & older)
  • opportunity to compete in National & International Championships

Note:

There is a $10 fee to register, which is waived for coaches. Membership is valid for one year from the date of receipt.

Referee Membership

Qualifications:

  • Referees must be 16 years and older, red belt and higher.
  • Referees must have trained in Taekwondo and understand the competition rules.

Requirements:

  • Referees must attend referee seminar scheduled by the USA Taekwondo or/and USTA at least once a year.
  • Referees must referee minimum of 4 tournaments per year.
  • Referees will be advanced one rank for every two tournaments they officiated.
  • USTA Individual Membership required. Membership fee is $10.

Ranking System:

  1. Regional Level: D-3, D-2, D-1
  2. State Level: C-3, C-2, C-1
  3. National Level B: B-3, B-2, B-1
  4. National Level A: A-3, A-2, A-1

Benefits:

  • Monetary compensation when referee each USTA sanctioned tournament
  • The Referee Chairman will keep records of each referee for their performance and participation on tournaments, for their future upgrade.

Note:

The USTA will recognize the Referee Ranks & Certifications issued by the USA Taekwondo (USAT) and the former United States Taekwondo Union (USTU). A USTA compatible rank will be issued to those certificate holders. Please register with the USTA and submit a copy of your certificate.
